The article is interesting but I think it truly fails to give a good
feel for the risk environment.  Unless I misread something that coffee
maker is not available over the internet, just on your local lan.  It
requires hacking into your local lan to exploit it.

That makes is so much better and so much more secure than many of the
pieces of internet connected hardware out there.
