Linux 5.6 has been released and Wireguard 1.0.0 has made it into the kernel proper.
This is good news for VPNs as wireguard is a very nice little piece of software.  It has been reviewed is very piece of code and is being mathematically evaluated.
BTW - if you're looking to setup a VPN with wireguard.  Recommend Pi VPN highly.  Great little tool to let you use a Raspberry PI to create a VPN.
