[olug] RPi as a security camera

I had a problem with petty theft of small items from my cubicle when I was
not at work. I used a locked down webcam to record jpg picture frames. I
also used the open source motion package to trigger recording when somebody
came into my cubicle. This worked out pretty well and I had a close-up shot
of the person doing the thefts.

In a video surveillance environment, you need a high resolution camera with
a wide field of view. For something quick, you could use motion on a Pi and
upload jpgs to a google drive. The amount of storage used would be pretty
minimal. Also, I cleaned out jpg storage on a weekly basis if nothing
happened.
