[olug] apt-get performance issue

I've noticed that with my Ubuntu 14.04 LTS servers that sometimes that
package lists step can seem to be hung up........ I've seen it take as long
as 25 minutes to complete depending on what I have installed on it. It
seems to be a common ""complaint"" from what I looked into when I first
starting looking into this, and I was informed that this was Ubuntu's way
of ensuring that ALL packages have been checked, and can take a while
depending on system resources, services, and processes running.......
