[olug] OT: Ting

The *only* downside I've had with Ting is the coverage area for Sprint. If
you get too far away from a major city or I80 you've got a fancy
paperweight. I do some driving up north past Fremont and down to Crete and
the signal coverage drops to 0 in a hurry. But that's a Sprint thing and
out of Ting's control.

But as long as I've got a signal it works great. I've got three phones and
their plans adjust to whatever level of services (text/voice/data) you use.
Last month my bill for three phones was $42. You buy the phones up front so
there's no monthly fees for that. I've gotten phones from their used bin
but they look new and work as expected.

If there was a way for them to ride on Verizon's towers you'd have the
perfect service - low prices with wide coverage. But if you don't stray out
in to the wilderness it's an excellent way to go.
