It's not the same.  Gnome classic has gotten all buggy & stuff since it became
a second hand citizen.  I'm running 12.04 at home & 10.04 at work, so I'm pretty
familiar with the differences.  12.04 w/ classic is bad enough that I finally
ditched it & started using KDE.  KDE's a long way from perfect, but at least
it's not as dysfunctional as today's Gnome.
