Seems like Zmanda doesn't work with AIX? At least not listed as supported platform. Guess that's why they don't have a DB2 agent listed either. I am surprised to see support for NDMP tho. Zmanda definetly seems robust for open source. I'm not uptodate on cloud base storage/backups but seems like more and more things turning that way. Zmanda support already there :) .Did notice that depening on client there a different data format. Netbackup uses TAR's no matter the client. We use all flavor and makes it a challenge. What is easy on one platform is difficult on another, never a dull moment. Reporting features for Netbackup is very basic and you have to extrapulate a lot to get what your looking for. Support tho is very good up to a point I have to say. Their licensing model leaves holes so that at end of year they can and do stick you with the $$$. For reporting tho we just moved to Aptare and it's like extremely expensive! (I think 1.5 million!) It's amazing what it can pull from our media servers tho so at least for the cost we are getting a lot of useful data. Guessing for the open source Zmanda that Aptare prob isn't supported but dunno really. I think which ever backup app the reporting features are found to be lacking imho.

Open source cross platform zmanda is free until you use the cloud service to Amazon or Google or HP.
Amazon costs $120.00/TB to upload plus $120.00/TB per month for storage, there is a calculator link. First 70GB are included in $4.95/month.
Google upload bandwidth appears to be at no charge and then costs $83.33/TB per month afterwards.
HP cloud pricing is not listed.
