[olug] Rooting a Coby Kyros Internet Tablet using Ubuntu Linux

I have a Coby Kyros tablet running Android 2.1 and it uses AppLib instead of Android Marketplace.  I read about rooting it to make the Android Marketplace available here:

It mention of course mentions a Windows based solution

currently have Ubuntu 10.10 if it matters.
