The MBR doesn't show up as a separate partition. You don't need to back it
up. Grub will overwrite it, and if you need it restored, it is simple
enough.
If you ever want to repair the Windows MBR to boot into Windows, you can
boot to a Windows CD, access the recovery console and then use "fixmbr".
But that would mess up your dual-boot. Grub should overwrite the MBR telling
the computer to boot to grub.
