Another option is openthinclient.org. All machines PXE boot to a single Linux OS and are very fast and stable on older hardware. You can even run the "server" in WinXP if that helps with a comfort level in support. I will be using that again once I get through this year and getting our portal services rolled out. LOVING that! 8)

Have you looked at GnuCash or KMyMoney(requires KDE libs)? There are others. Try a search for "linux+Quicken"
I've never used Wine, but chances are pretty good that Quicken will run under Wine, also...
