I think haldaemon is mostly used for hotplug stuff, like usb storage, usb rodentia, usb printers, etc...
BTW, hal is deprecated. DeviceKit is the shizzle from now on...
BTW2, totally OT, but... Watching the Orange Bowl and KPTM is scrolling school closings for tomorrow. Bellevue, Ralston, Papio-LV, Gretna, Westside, Millard, Omaha Catholic, OPS, more... Man, this Global Warming stuff sure does cause a lot of cold and snow. :-)
