Local BBSWLTRS (big box stores with logos that resemble a sun) are
offering the exact same machine for $228 new. The only difference is
the Walmart product is of the eMachines brand, but is the exact same
physical model. I've inspected both side-by-side and they're exactly
alike, minus the badges.
The AOD250 is the last-generation Aspire One, without N wifi and
sporting last year's Atom processor. The AO532h, on the other hand, has
802.11n and the new Atom N450. Wally World offers the AO532h for $299
with a 6-cell battery. The 6-cell battery gets me about 6-7 hours (with
802.11n enabled and browsing the web) per charge on my AO532h.
Just something to consider when you think about jumping on that daily
deal. Unless you need that specific model you'd be better off getting
the new kit.
PS: If you buy an Aspire One from Walmart, be careful! When I bought
mine they had one last-generation D250 box mixed in with a herd of 532h
boxes. I don't trust that they know the difference. Point out which
one you want or you might end up paying the same price for last year's
machine.
