I just bought a Radeon HD 5750 for $150 on NewEgg. I haven't tested it
under Linux yet as I just bought it. It has DirectX 11 support in
Windows.
ATI doesn't list it on their site as being supported under the current
Catalyst Linux drivers, but a Phoronix article said they did get it
running with a test build of the drivers, and that it would be
supported then the new ATI drivers were released in early November.

It is a low-powering drawing card that runs cool and quiet. It can
handle 3 displays by itself. Paired with another 57xx series card, you
can run 6 displays in ATI's Eyefinity setup.
Most PCIE cards these days can handle 2 displays just fine.
