[olug] funny, true but funny

I'm not sure IF i'd call it better, but I'll retell my story and maybe
this will give you a good idea of what 7 did actually do for someone I
know. They are relatives and had a laptop with XP on it, and about
every 2 months I'd visit, and it would be terribly slow and sometimes
had spyware, and so I got into a habit of just wiping and reinstalling
whenever things got bad. About a year ago I got zealous and decided
"Linux is good enough for my mom" so I converted her, and tried to
convert this relative, but to no avail, they wanted Windows..

Fine I said. I'd played with the RC of 7 and it seemed pretty stable..
and I'm pretty sadistic.. so I loaded it up and handed it to them..
outside of having some issues with a printer (it was an RC.. I can't
complain.) It's been solid. I used to get calls from them about twice
a week, and immediatly after I gave it them the calls stopped.

He works for a college and would probably get a full version of 7 for
super cheap.. so.. 7 *may* not be linux to me.. but in this case it
sure beat the pee out of the XP i had installed on that laptop, and
Vista would have not been an option.

I'll never go back I love my Quad Core Linux Mint Box.. it's like my
favorite machine.. I can't wait to build another Linux Desktop.
