[olug] Community Colo Project

The small office sounds like a cozy little place to do it, and the
24/7 access would be a definite plus. What's the physical
infrastructure like at the CO?

The Sixth-gen Ciscos would work perfectly for this application. I'm
not so concerned with the extra U needed, the only real concerns I
have is their IPv6 readiness and our expandability regarding BGP.
That's easily taken care of as long as it's got plenty of memory for
the tables and it has Advanced IP Services for IPv6 compatability.

In the event that we can't get native IPv6 from the upstream,
Hurricane Electric's IPv6 tunnel is the next best bet and we can
configure it directly on the router.

Phil's idea of the utility server is a wonderful idea. Having a
centralized MRTG/Cacti/console box would make the administration a
breeze and we could further lock down the router and switch by
disabling telnet/SSH.
