[olug] Chrome

I'm finding Chrome. . . interesting. At this point, I don't see it
replacing Firefox for me as my standard browser anytime soon, and
possible not ever. However, the relatively small footprint (resulting
from fewer features), integrated google gears, and the process
separation between tabs/windows offers some very interesting
possibilities.
Honestly, the place I could see this most useful for would be for
web-based applications, things like gmail, google apps, etc. With the
built-in google Gears, you can use a single Chrome instance as a
relatively dedicated 'launcher' for a webapp. This could help take
certain web apps that next step towards feeling like a traditional
desktop application.
I saw mention on one blog that they felt Google Chrome was more of a
shot at Windows, as opposed to a shot at IE or Firefox. I think I
agree with that idea.
