As a similar role as the Senate, I agree with the EC.

As the original thought that the common man was too stupid, I agree with the
EC.

I don't see a general popular election solving anything.  Primarily to go
along with the 'similar as the Senate' mentality.  Should 5 *cities* dictate
who becomes the President ?
