True, they won't win. But I read a study earlier this week (and wished
I could find it), that said fairly substantial percentage of voters
(>20% if I remember right) vote for the 'wrong' candidate, in terms of
their political positions. If you could get all of those people to
vote, along with all the people who just don't vote at all because
they know their vote doesn't really matter, you could get a very
viable 3rd party candidate.
