And this is why people can't discuss politics, they invariably can't
separate their perception of the person from the person's actual
behaviors and stances on the issues.  They start throwing personal
attacks around and then people feel insulted, and things just go to
shit.

Once personalization of conflict occurs no meaningful progress towards
the resolution of the conflict can be made.
