Well, Google to the rescue, but, on occasion, it stifles community.

I upgraded from FC6->F8 when I finally got around to moving on to F8.

Today/(started yesterday), I tried to run yum update and got complaints
about an avahi-'yada'.fc6 conflicting w/ avahi-'yada'.fc8

My first thought was to "ask the list", but figured I'd get the standard
RTFG(oogle), so I went there. After some refinement, I found something
similar and corrective.

To share for the benefit of the list:

yum remove avahi reported it was going to delete 200+ packages. NOT
where I wanted to go...

rpm -e avahi-'yada'.fc6 gave "scriplet failed" on post processing.

rpm -e --noscripts avahi-'yada'.fc6 took care of it.

While an obscure situation, maybe someone will run into a similar issue.
