[olug] RDAC or SDD for ESX 3.5?

Well after that spanking, I still have one question. How do I get it to
work? Because "built in" is not an accurate statement.
"VMWare should have the drivers you need..." --say WHAT? You just
noted that you cannot install precompiled binaries on an ESX host.
"or your vendor should have third-party drivers" --did you notice
that it is no longer supported, and the legacy RDACs have no reference
in interoperability to ESX3.5? It's a guessing game, unless I write my
own.

I obviously tried all best practices, and if you read the documentation
carefully it does not provide an answer. I do not want to pay for
support on an unsupported incident for a Test/Dev issue. Tried that
once and won't ever again.

By the way, I have a 6 server ESX 3.0.2 cluster with 75 vm servers that
I built from scratch, but didn't think I needed to preface with that. I
just don't have the linux knowledge that I probably should to work with
external devices. Installed the SDD on the first 6, but of course it
was supported and knew the right one to use.

:o)

Don't install Linux drivers on the ESX service console. VMware should
have
the drivers you need, or your vendor should have third-party drivers.

Check the VMware HCL for your HBA.
