XFS is fast because it plays games with your data that aren't safe.
JFS can have some of those same problems; neither support anything even
remotely equivalent to ordered writes that ext3/ext4 and reiser v3 support.
BTW ext4 = ext3 + extents + extremely large file (>16TB) support.
