Craig,
I've not yet used iMovie.  Do you happen to know if it supports 
importing a wide variety of file formats?  I'm going to end up capturing 
my analog video to either my O2 using mediarecorder in IRIX or my G3 
using the Apple Video Player in MacOS 9.  (If anyone is familiar with 
both and has a recommendation on which one will do a better job, please 
let me know!  I'm a video novice.)  I don't know which formats I can 
record to, but I'm hoping that iMovie likes it.

Did you ever decide on a camera?  If so, does it happen to have A->D 
pass-thru capabilities?  If I manage to upgrade to a digividcam anytime 
soon this will be a point on my checklist.
