I don't think this entirely addresses your needs, but after
having gone back and forth trying to find a way to separate
out my bookmarks and other items from a single machine, I
ended up using protopage (http://www.protopage.com/v2).
W/this, I have my bookmarks and rss feeds on one page, and
also have my email POPed there. I'm using my email to store
files as well, although don't have it synched w/my machine.
