In case you weren't aware, the Electronic Medical
Record Software systems used at the VA Hospital and the Indian
Health Service are free and open source. The IHS
branch was forked to include pediatrics. It is called
VistA and of course, is not at all to be confused with Microsoft
VistA. Most every doctor i have spoken with likes it,
but i am not sure how well it could be modified to
work in a extremely fast paced specialty private practice.

When you run the server on Linux, there are no licensing fees.

Every Friday at 11am CST, there is a free conference
call on the EMR open to developers and users or
anyone.

    The Call-in number is: 866-483-4159
An operator will take your name, phone number, and
"department" (OpenVistA). And then connect you.
