I don't really see a problem with "stacking the statistics"
here. If the statistics are supposed to be per-site, then
this is perfectly valid. If the statistics are supposed to
be per-server, then this change shouldn't really impact
things much assuming they park tons of hosts on a single
server.
After all, why didn't you have a problem with the stacking
of statistics before when they were in Linux's favor? It
is the same thing, just with a different OS.
