[OLUG] Linux install on a Toshiba Tecra 500CDT

Did you ever get Linux installed on your Tecra 500CDT? If so, maybe you 
can guide me through some sticky points I am having with mine. I am 
trying to install Ubuntu Linux.  I can not get the computer to boot from 
the CD-ROM so that I can use the installer on the CD. If this is a poor 
strategy for completing this project please let me know.
