[olug] Large digital clock display

A long time ago I bought an RF modulator from RadioShack to go with my i740
video card that did composite out.... cause I wanted to play Doom on a TV :)
... worked fine.
Video cards that do composite out can be had for under $10. eBay would be a
good place to start. You don't need something overly fancy to drive a clock
display...
The modulator -- I'd check around on prices. They all do about the same
thing .. and since the video card is spitting out tv resolution, you don't
have to worry about 'high quality equipment'.
In reguards to software -- ntp is the defacto and perhaps only choice you
really have.... except maybe something that fetches the time from a web
page. I've had nothing but hassles with NTP in the 2 years we've been using
it on a professional basis.... it's as annoying as ISC's dhcpd.
Although, you said it'd be running XP, so... meh. Shouldn't be too many
hassles getting a built in (or free) NTP client. Automachron is a free
client that I've used on Windows98 for years.
For displaying the time in windows or something -- have someone write ya a
quick VB or python or something utility to display the time in a big
window...
