Confession time -- I was install this with VirtualPC -- formerly by
Connectix, now by Microsoft.  I've done successful installs with VPC
and Fedora (and Ubuntu) before.  The problem is that I upped the
available memory past 560MB and VPC didn't like it.  Below 512MB works
fine.

More M$ weirdness. . . .
