Omaha Linux User Group to hold their Winter Linux Install Fest
Omaha, Nebraska January 11th, 2005 The Omaha Linux User Group (OLUG), is
proud to announce the date for the next semi-annual InstallFest in 2005,
to take place on January 15th, 2005. The purpose of these events is to
educate and expand awareness of Linux, Linux distributions and free, open
software as alternatives to the dominate Windows operating system.
Experienced Linux users and professionals will be on hand to help newer
users install, configure and use Linux. As Linux is free and open
software, copies will be available to install and take home. If needed,
attendees can continue to get help after the InstallFest by participating
in the OLUG email-based mailing list, web site and monthly meetings.
The members of OLUG have an InstallFest twice a year to assist individuals
who are interested in the Linux operating system or need assistance in
installing, configuring, or troubleshooting a device or software problem,
said Adam Haeder, OLUG Vice President. "The response from the local Linux
and open source community, and from various commercial organizations has
been excellent.
The Winter 2005 Linux InstallFest will be held in Omaha, Nebraska on
January 15th from noon to 6 PM in the Clarkson College / AIM Institute
classrooms on the corner of 44th and Douglas (one block south of 44th and
Dodge) in the computer labs on the first floor. Registration information
and directions are available at the OLUG Web Site at www.olug.org.
