[olug] More on wireless setup

I have a WR602 Netgear for work and it shows a pretty significant SNR in Netstumbler. Some of the built-in wireless laptops have problems staying connected throughout the day. I have an older Dell Inspiron 5150 so I had to get PCMCIA Orinoco card -- and it even has the extender port for my cool wardrivin' cantenna. I digress -- I have tried a few different channels and SNR does not improve much. The signal itself is high 20's and I am down two halls and get "Good" signal all day. I am wondering what settings are recommended or any other tricks I can combine. 

I really want to go to meeting tonight. I am going to try.
