[olug] Getting to root in Ubuntu (was computer woes 18.25.....17.5, etc.)

Got the updated driver from googling......

it's a Rhine III via chipset -- readme says compile
from source for linux....

Looked at how to run from root on Ubuntu...tried that
but it doesn't give me permissions to enter the
"Makefile" or "Make" commands.

Help!
