*One* extra IDE channel?

Try 3 or 4 (at least in the case of 8 drive duplicators).

Remember, you don't want master and slave devices on the same channel in
this configuration.

CPU and RAM are irrelevant. The duplicator we have at the office has
64MB of RAM and runs MS-DOS and Windows 3.11 (no, I'm not making it up).

All the CD duplicators I have seen have SCSI burners.
