ReZound records up to 8 channels & has lots of effects plug-ins, etc.,
but no built-in MIDI or sequencing functionality. Although it's a fairly
decent (free) multitrack recorder, it's best for doing mid &
post-production editing, bare-bones mastering, etc. In that middle
ground between Audacity & ProTools, perhaps. Also, I've found that most
Linux pro-level audio production tools are fairly picky about sound card
set-up, OSS, Alsa, etc. In other words, all the coolness of the software
won't get you anywhere if your box ain't gonna rock sound-setup-wise.
