The problem was server based - sorta.
After all the wrangling with the ISP to get the firewall rules to work as
requested, and the NATing to work as needed, the vendor still could not
get logged in. First, I needed to create the proper login with the correct
privileges. Next, I had to use that userID & password on the network
locally before it could be used to SSH into the box.
SSH into the box, we were able to SCP the files over to the new Sun box.
No need to get SFTP working, so I blew it off.
Now, to get the DNS & NSlookup working as the Sun box needs them to.
