Running Knopppix 3.3 on a Avertec laptop, and I have a
burning issue, literally.
I've enabled apm as a power manager within the kernel
and have the daemon startup upon boot, but the laptop
still gets very hot and the cooling fans runs all of
the time on it.
If I run apm -M, I only get this output
Line: on
Battery: -1% (?)
Not sure what this means.
Also I've installed a doc app called wmapm to display
battery life but the output is never updated, nor
accurate.
Any ideas or input from fellow Linux laptop users on
any of this?
thanks
