[olug] Physical limits of CD Rom

Hey Charles,
I don't think the CD-rom drive is going to hold up to quite a bit of (ab)use. In my desktop
machines I lose more CD-Rom drives than any other single piece of hardware.
I'd probably go either with a USB drive, if you can get an Motherboard that lets you boot off of
it. Happy Puppy Linux or Feather will fit on a 64MB stick which is pretty cheap.
Or
Get a Notebook Drive and use that. Notebook drives hold up to abuse a lot better over time than
even regular drives. A small drive in the 2-4Gb rang should be quite scroungable. Knoppix can be
installed onto a HD quite easily.
