In OpenOffice, go to File, New, Business Cards

Double check that the Brand is set to Avery Letter Size, change the Type 
to, for example, 5371 Business Card - White

Make your first card, then click the Synchronize Labels button to 
duplicate onto the entire sheet.

Should work in OpenOffice 1.0.x and 1.1.x...
