Or just use a dict protocol server and any old dict protocol client.
Check out www.dict.org (old homepage section is most useful)

The advantage to this over the script in the tip is that you can specify
multiple dict [protocol] servers to use, whereas the tip is pretty
useless if dictionary.com is broken or changes how it parses URLs.
