I'd be very surprised if there's anything even remotely like ZENworks in
the OSS community. It does what most geeks abhor, impose policy from
without, and without the ability to circumvent it, so I don't see it very
likely that there's ever been much interest in the OSS community to
replicate that sort of software.
Also ZEN has had something like 8 years of really intensive development to
get it where it is today.
Just as an aside, with the latest desktop release of ZEN you can now run
it in a completely Windows environment (no Netware at all).
Novell is however working on ZENworks for Desktops for Linux. No word on a
release date however. I'm guessing a minimum of 2 years before we see any
actual software.

Here goes with my best, high-level look at what it is capable of (at the
desktop):
Remote control of the system
Inventory the hardware and software on the system
Imaging of the system
Remote Desktop (you desktop, preferences(settings), and files follow
you)
Application management (installing new software or self healing
software if malfunctioning)
