[olug] Linux updates

Just wondering if anyone has a general consensus about handling updates
on <insert favorite linux distro here>

up2date and the like are nice and all, but up2date in particular (I
believe) needs to be run as root, and requires a subscription to the rhn
website.

I just stumbled across http://www.kleemann.org/rpm-update/ and was
curious how everyone else handles their updates.
