This first section defines the device to talk to. The important lines are
the Option stuff.
Section "Device"
Identifier "ATI Radeon"
Driver "ati"
#VideoRam 32000
Option "CloneDisplay" "1" ; this forces ON the external port
Option "PanelOff" "1" ; This turns OFF the internal display
Option "CloneMode" "1280x1024" ; This sets the MODE to use
Option "CloneHSync" "31.5-115.0" ; this sets the external Hsync
Option "CloneVRefresh" "50-160" ; this sets the external VRefresh
EndSection
Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen 1"
Device "ATI Radeon" ; This just says to use the above define
Monitor "Cornerstone"
DefaultDepth 24
Now a word of warning - with these settings you will NOT have any display
on the LCD panel... I do not boot into X - I use runlevel 3 - and thus use
startx from the command prompt...
If you boot into X (runlevel 5) then test these settings first from
runlevel 3 then go ahead and set it up. Happy X!
