[olug] Mail Relaying w/Filtering

I don't know about filtering, but I know that you can configure your MTA
to accept relays from a single (or multiple defined) host(s). You can
also force a password dialogue for that relay (over IMAPS even). The
relaying stuff isn't too bad. I have a super simplified script (I
downloaded it from astaticsolutions.com, however the website doesn't
appear to host it any longer), that allows you to set up the sendmail
relay with very little effort. This is assuming you want to use sendmail.
The script and necessary INSTALL help file is located at:
einer.org/relay.tgz
The filtering stuff sounds like you just need milter, but I get the
feeling that I'm missing a piece of complexity somewhere. A descrption
of what milter can do can be found at
http://www.sendmail.com/partner/resources/development/milter_api/
Sounds like an interesting project.
Good Luck,
Andrew
