DId you get DHCP going with the new cox.net? If so, it sounds like a
great OLUG meeting presentation topic. I've been looking for a new
cox.net hoto, since the only ones out there are for cox at home.
I witnessed a Cox employee trying to put one of their computer store
demos on cox.net, and it wasn't pretty. He still didn't have it working
by the time I left (some of the problems were related to XP and the
store computer's network adapter). But that was only after 20 miinutes
of trying ;)
In an earlier message on this mailing list, someone reported that a Cox
employee said something about Linksys equipment not working with cox.net
. I assumed that meant the Linksys router, so I pointed to a Linksys
router on the shelf and asked the Cox employee if such a device would
work on cox.net . The Cox employee said it would.
I'm just searching for an updated "howto" and a smooth transition next week.
