TYPE should also be "ethernet" not "ehternet".
Maybe you didn't install linuxconf. Try typing "rpm -q linuxconf". If
this command returns linuxconf-#####, where ##### is the version number,
then try typing "linuxconf &" at the command line. If linuxconf starts,
you'll be able to get to netconf by choosing the networking button.
If you receive the message "...command not found" and you verified that
linuxconf is on the system, then linuxconf might not be in your path.
This means trouble since a lot of other important programs live in the
same directory as linuxconf. Type "echo $PATH" to see what directories
are in your path and type "rpm -ql linuxconf" to see where the linuxconf
program resides. The path is set in /etc/profile, ~/.profile, or
~/.bashrc.
If linuxconf is not installed and you care at this point, you can
install it from one of the CDs. The packages are in the directory
RedHat/RPMS or RedHat/RPMS2 on the CDs. To install a package, type "rpm
-i pkg-file-name.rpm" at the command line, where "pkg-file-name.rpm" is
the name of the file containing the package. This also answers another
recent question on the list since it illustrates how to install rpm
packages. For more information on rpm, see the man page or the RPM
HOWTO that is available on the Red Hat web site and probably at
www.rpm.org.
