[olug] Network file systems

Can anyone give me pros / cons of NFS or coda or any other network filesystems that anyone uses?  I would like to do secure connections and encrypt data but don't want it to be a configuation nightmare.  I understand ssh tunnels and don't mind using them to accomplish this but I don't know if there is a filesystem that will do the encryption natively or not.
