Jon I have it working now but still have the opl3 not loading. But wav's work, event sounds, work and audio CD 's work. I am using the little gnome sound recorder/player that comes with system to test it.
I do have the graphical login with gnome. When the system loads at boot up its telling me invalid paramaters in opl3.o module. Other than modules.conf where else might it be getting paramaters from ?
Thanks again and have a nice week end.

If so than you have two options turn off sound server / route all sounds through the server. I think you got your card working. are you using KDE or Gnome?
