Well if the modem is a winmodem I don't know if support exists yet. If the scanner is supported at all it will probably be by sane. From what a remember someone maintained a very good list of supported scanners on the internet somewhere. Good luck. I have never setup or used either of these devices under linux so I hope someone else gives you some good feedback.
