[olug] DVD performance

I installed Xine ( http://skyblade.homeip.net/xine/ ) last night and watched 
a jerky Episode I on dvd.  I have an Athlon 600 w/256 mb ram and an ATI Rage 
128 video card.

Any changes I should make to get better performance?  Is my hardware enough 
to get a rock solid display?  Would another player give better performance?
