[olug] USB Help w/SuSE 7.0

My experience has been that usb is all module based.  If you want to see what usb modules are installed check the /lib/modules-<kernelversion>/ directories.  The modules for the 2.4 kernel that support my usb joysticks are:
hid - human interface device supports a lot more than joysticks.
usb-uhci - the usb controller
usbcore - loads if your module dependencies are correct.
